Littermaid LM500

The LitterMaid LM500 is a self-cleaning litter box that automatically rakes waste into a sealable container 10 minutes after use. It is able to eliminate most odors while keeping the litter clean and fresh for your pet cat. The Littermaid LM500 plugs into a wall socket or operates with eight (8) D-cell batteries (not included in the pack).

The Littermaid LM500’s sensor is triggered when a cat enters the litter box. It sets a timer that counts off 10 minutes after the cat’s exit. A rake runs through the litter, scoops out clumps and deposits them in a plastic container at the litter box’s end. The container is automatically sealed until the next cat visit when the raking cycle opens the container for another deposit. The rake on the Littermaid LM500 stops and reverses at the slightest touch in case an object gets behind the rake while it is returning to its home position. The timer resets if a cat re-enters the litter box before the initial 10 minutes have elapsed. The Littermaid LM500 litter box requires premium clumping litter but would not need as much as a regular litter box of the same size.
